The seeds of Acting for Climate were planted in Norway in 2015 by Abigael Winsvold and Victoria Gulliksen. Acting for Climate Montréal was initiated by Agathe Bisserier, Nathan Biggs-Penton, and Adrien Malette-Chénier in 2019. Our mission is to create a network of artists and activists to nurture collaboration, equity, and admiration of nature for a sustainable future.
We are inspired by Piet Hein's definition of art as "the solution to the problems that cannot be formulated clearly before being resolved". As artists we have the opportunity and responsibility to inspire action, joy and change.
The Acting For Climate tree is growing, both as a professional stage-performance company, with a European branch, and a Montréal branch, and as a community platform for arts and sustainability.
We intend to strengthen and expand global networks of action through interaction with local artists and activists. Acting for Climate is not just a group of performers, it is a mindset and a movement.
Acting for Climate will always strive to develop the field of performing arts, through cross-disciplinary collaboration and challenging its methods and expressions.

Who we are
Ida Langkilde (DK)
Agathe Bisserier
Agathe began circus at a very young age in France, her country of birth. Her first encounter with contemporary circus came when she was fourteen years old, when she was accepted to the École Nationale de Cirque de Châtellerault. There, she specialized in Washington trapeze. Later, in August 2014, Agathe packed her suitcase and left for Québec to undertake
the professional program at the École de Cirque de Québec. Here, she met Adrien.
Nowadays, Agathe is a hand-to- hand and icarian games flyer.
Adrien Malette-Chénier
Graduated from the Circus School of Quebec, Adrien Malette-Chénier specializes in hand to hand and juggling. With his duo ''Agathe and Adrien'', he has participated in multiple festivals in Quebec, such as Montréal Complètement Cirque, Festival d'été, Comédie Ha, and many more. With the same duo, he participated in the original creation of Eden, a show by Variete Wolrdwide, in Miami. Between circus, dance and performing arts, Adrien orients his practice towards the research in contemporary circus.
Nathan Biggs-Penton
Nathan grew up in the woods between mountains in a house built and designed by his parents. In 2013 Nathan dove head first into the world of physical expression; acrobatics, manipulation, dance, music, and clowning. Circus Smirkus, DoCH, and the Quebec Circus School form the foundation from which he grows. Art in society is essential, and in current times society needs the influence of art to move towards a sustainable tomorrow. Nathan is a core member of Acting for Climate in Europe and is the co-founder and co-director of Acting for Climate Montréal.
